The hub-based LinkStarS2 system incorporates the DVB-S2 waveform that offers up to 30% greater bandwidth efficiency, substantially reducing network operating costs and increasing network capacity. The LinkStar® system is the highest performance, star-based VSAT system for service providers, ISPs, and corporate network managers who are seeking a system based on DVB standards.

LinkStarS2A Networking: Now With ACM
In addition to DVB-S2 savings, the LinkStar system now also includes ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation). In environments prone to unpredictable and heavy weather, ACM provides up to 46% reduction in satellite bandwidth compared to a non-ACM implementation of DVB-S2. ACM enables the downstream carrier to dynamically change its modulation and coding in response to changing link conditions. Plus, the LinkStarS2A system also includes ViaSat-exclusive Dynamic Link Adaptation (DLA) to provide operators even more improvements in performance reliability when satellite signal strength degrades for any reason.
LinkStar networking offers several benefits
LinkStar VSATs can operate using C- or Ku-band transponders, and can operate efficiently in small or large networks, for thin-route or broadband data. A Web-based NMS makes it simple to operate and easy to configure.
